Introduction to Differential Algebra
The course given by Johannes Middeke takes place on Tuesday from 12:00 - 13:30 in S2 046. The course number is 326.034.
Differential algebra tries to model the algebraic properties of the derivation from basic calculus. For this, it develops a concept of derivations over arbitrary rings. This lecture will present the abstract definition of a derivation and differential rings. We will study their basic structure such as differential ideals and homomorphisms and the continuation of derivations. Further topics include differential operators, the differential Kronecker construction, the Ritt lemma and the differential primitive element theorem.
