Abstract: Isogeometric analysis (IgA) is a paradigm aiming to improve the connection
of the world of CAD with the world of finite element (FEM) simulation. It was introduced in the
year 2005 by Tom Hughes et al. and has gained much interest since than. The main
scope of the lecture is to discuss geometric aspects, details on how to set up an
isogeometric discretization, error estimates, iterative solvers and preconditioners for
single and multi patch domains.
