Abstract: In this lecture we will learn how machine learning can be utilized for mathematical applications. We will mostly focus on questions coming from geometry, such as fitting a curve to point data, or coming from numerical simulation, such as finding a numerical solution to a partial differential equation. We use neural networks as a tool to solve such problems.
