Fundamentals of Numerical Analysis and Symbolic Computation

Geometrical inverse problems: The topic of this lecture are ill-posed problems whose variable is a shape (i.e., a geometrical object). The lecture is self-contained and provides an overview of the classical theory of regularization in function spaces and how this carries over to spaces of shapes. We consider the function space setting of inverse and ill-posed problems, regularization methods, perimeter regularization, shape sensitivity analysis and the level-set method.
