Isogeometric Analysis (IGA) & Boundary-Element-Methods (BEM) in Ship Hydrodynamics

In this presentation we shall first review the literature on isogeometric BEM and then focus on its application for slender bodies moving on the free-surface of an ideal fluid. The so far obtained results, using an IGA-BEM solver for various ship-hull geometries, will be summarized on the basis of: a) comparison with experimental results, b) convergence rates, c) numerical-integration issues and d) using the solver for computer-aided ship design against the criterion of minimum wave resistance.
